Who we are

What We Believe

  • The Bible is God’s Word

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives. (Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21;).

  • One Eternal God

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. God is great: He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, Holy. It is in Him that we live, move and exist. God is good. He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises. (1 John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11).

  • Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1,14, 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5).

  • The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. It is the will of God that we daily walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe every believer can be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit then enables and empowers us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, 8, 2:4; Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; Ephesians 4:16; Hebrews 2:4; 12:28; 1 Timothy 4:14; 2 Timothy 1:6-7; 1 Peter 4:10).

  • The Holy Spirit and Christ

We believe that the Holy Spirit assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, confirms God’s righteousness in us, and the coming judgment. He helps us become more like Christ. (Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17-20; John 7:37-39; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4, 17, 38-43, 4:8, 8:12-17, 10:38, 44-46, 11:14-17, 15:7-9, 19:1-6).

  • Man is Made in The Image of God

We believe man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. Man was created to have fellowship with God but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort. Every human personality is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love. (Genesis 1:26-31, 2:7, 17, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21).

  • Salvation is a Gift

We believe the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Acts 2:21, 3:19, 16:31; Romans 8:16, 10:9-15; 1 John 1:9; Ephesians 2:8-9, 24; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 2:11-12, 3:5-7; Hebrews 9:22).

  • Water Baptism and Communion

We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be:

    1. Baptized in water: Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38, 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48).

    2. The Lord's Supper: A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross. (Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 10:16,
    11:23-25; 2 Peter 1:4).

  • You Were Meant for Community

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, prayer and the ‘breaking of bread’. We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfill our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live. (Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23).

  • Healing is a Privilege

We believe that Healing is a privilege for every believer. God wants each of us to live healthy and whole lives so that we can live for Him and help others more effectively. (Isaiah 53:4,5; Matthew 8:16,17; James 5:14-16).

  • Heaven and Hell

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised. (Matthew 5:3, 12, 20, 6:20, 19:21, 25:34; John 17:24; 2 Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; 1 Peter 1:4; Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8).

  • Resurrection of The Saints

We believe in the rapture of the church, the bodily, personal, second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the saints, the millennium, and the final judgment. The final judgment will determine the eternal status of both the saints and the unbelievers, determined by their relationship to Jesus Christ. (Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27, 30; Revelation 1:7, 19:11-14, 20:1-6; Ezekiel 37:21,22; Zephaniah 3:19-20; Romans 11:26-27; Isaiah 11:6-9; Psalms 72:3-8; Micah 4:3-4; Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 19:20, 20:11-15, 21:8).
